The mayor of Spring Valley has been caught on tape again shouting – this time at a village board meeting Tuesday night.

An audio tape of the meeting acquired by News 12 recorded Village Trustee Sherry McGill trying to bring up an annual Halloween party for kids with Mayor Alan Simon.

McGill said as a village trustee, she was entitled to bring up new business.  Mayor Simon apparently did not share that opinion. The meeting then deteriorated.

McGill says Simon intentionally silenced her because she's up for re-election and the mayor wants to control her public perception.

Village Trustee Eudson Tyson Francois agrees. Francois seemed to be the target of the mayor's anger back in July.

Just weeks before that, the mayor cursed out a state Department of Transportation team.

The mayor wouldn't speak with News 12 on camera but did return a call. He said he has no comment on the allegations and that he doesn't care about News 12’s questions. He then hung up.
Village trustees say they have told the state attorney general about Mayor Simon's behavior in the hope of having action taken against the local lawmaker.
