Officials: Teen charged with making terroristic threat against Croton-Harmon High SchoolPosted: Updated:
A teen has been charged with making a terroristic threat against Croton-Harmon High School.
Police arrested the 17-year-old after the school district received a tip through its anonymous alert reporting portal Wednesday afternoon.
Westchester District Attorney Anthony Scarpino did not release the teen's name because of his age or give any further details about the threat.
Parents told News 12 that they received an email notifying them that “'someone has threatened to commit an act of violence during school this week."
Ariella Soltren, a ninth-grader, said she feels like the school is prepared to deal with any threat.
“They have lockdown drills. My chemistry teacher explained what to do in case someone actually made it into the room,” she said.
The teen was arraigned Thursday night in the Village of Croton court.
The threat did not disrupt any school days this week. Students say they did see an added security presence.
