Lemonade stand mix-up turns into positive interaction for Newburgh policePosted: Updated:
A group of young entrepreneurs in Orange County got more than a business lesson this week when a lemonade stand mix-up prompted the police to show up!
Newburgh police say the kids weren't breaking any laws, but were causing some traffic in Barclay Manor, and they had some complaints.
Instead of ordering the stand to close, the officers bought lemonade and posed for pictures with the kids.
Mom Whitney Glover posted about it on Facebook, calling the person who complained "bitter."
She says since doing so, dozens of customers have stopped by and the kids have made hundreds of dollars. "I wasn't expecting it to become the way it did. It was more of a thank you to the police officers!" says Glover.
The Newburgh Police Department is praising their officers saying they made sure the kids were safe and took time to interact with them in a positive way.
The kids say they plan on spending their earnings on new toys and dinner out with family.
