A lesson on entrepreneurship almost got cut short for a group of Newburgh kids this week.
Newburgh mother Whitney Glover says she helped kids in the area put up a lemonade stand on the road by Barclay Manor to teach them some entrepreneurship skills.
Glover says she and the kids were out for about an hour and a half when a cop car pulled up nearby.
It turned out that someone in the area had called the police on the kids' stand.
When officers showed up, they say that the kids weren't doing anything wrong. Though, they say their stand did create some traffic on the road.
Officers Clayton Dubois and Thomas O'Connell ended buying a cup of lemonade and posed for pictures with the kids.
Glover made a Facebook post about the incident. Since doing so, she says dozens of customers have stopped by and the kids made hundreds of dollars in just three days.
"I wasn't expecting it to become the way it did," Glover says. "It was more of a thank you to the police."
The kids will be selling lemonade on the road until school starts next week.
