A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday morning in White Plains and the driver has been charged with DWI.
It happened just before 7 a.m. Saturday outside the Westchester County Center. The driver also toppled the Millennium Clock Tower.
Officials say the victim was a woman in her 50s who was walking along Central Avenue. Her identity has not yet been released.
Police say the driver, a 26-year-old man, was arrested. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Back in 2008, the original clock tower was knocked down by a Yorktown man in a hit-and-run.
