A Dutchess County researcher is hoping to prove Bigfoot is much more than a tall tale.
Gayle Beatty, of Red Hook, isn't a typical researcher. That's because she investigates sightings of Bigfoot.
Beatty says it all started years ago when she says she saw not one but two Sasquatch in her backyard.
"I see these two huge things with green glowing eyes," says Beatty.
Beatty says over the years she's got close to 300 local encounters.
Beatty is not alone in her sightings. Apparently, Dutchess County is popular for Bigfoot sightings. So much so that Animal Planet made an episode of 'Finding Bigfoot' and named New York among the top five states for Bigfoot sightings.
Beatty says she gets most of her leads through Facebook. She says people send her videos and pictures and invite her to investigate.
"There's things on this Earth yet to be discovered," says Beatty. "Hopefully in my lifetime, the truth will come out."
