Firefighters suffer heat exhaustion battling fire at home in Monsey

At least five firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion Wednesday while battling a fire at a multi-family home in Monsey, according to fire officials.
The fire broke out around 12:30 p.m. at a home on Forshay Road. Fire officials say no one was at home at the time of the fire.
Fire officials say one firefighter was taken to the hospital. They say the heat and humidity combined with the fire made it overwhelming.
Fire officials say residents will not be able to return home today. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
