A New Rochelle step team is competing in a national championship this weekend.

The Prestige Step Team will be competing in Atlanta, Georgia, for the Break the Stage National Championship.

The team, made up of students from New Rochelle High School and Albert Leonard Middle School, are facing off against eight schools on Saturday. 

The team says they have been practicing since September. They practice drills and other workouts to help build up their stamina. 

Some on the team say they have butterflies ahead of the big day, but they're ready to show America what they’ve got.
