8 people, dog rescued from boat fire in Hudson River

A boat caught fire Saturday afternoon leaving eight people and a dog needing to be rescued.

A boat caught fire Saturday afternoon leaving eight people and a dog needing to be rescued.
Video taken from a News 12 traffic camera on the Hudson River showed the boat up in flames south of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
Emergency crews from both Rockland and Westchester responded to the fire. First responders managed to quickly put the fire out with an extinguisher.
Everyone on board, including the dog, was brought back to shore safely. Officials say they were all wearing life jackets and were in good spirits.
Officials say it looks like the fire may have been caused by an electrical issue, but it is not confirmed. Investigators are working to confirm what exactly caused the fire.
