Former Bronx resident ‘Fat Joe,’ BP Diaz deliver sneakers to scholarly students

A former Bronx resident-turned-celebrity continues to give back to the community in generous ways.
Rapper Fat Joe and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. were on hand to deliver sneakers to classes that exemplified the best of Bronx education.
Students were judged based off of their engagement in class, attendance and more.
Fat Joe made a deal with the kids from some Bronx schools – the class that performed the best in school would win a pair of sneakers for each student in the class.
And these weren’t any old sneakers. They were big brands.
Fat Joe continuously comes back to the Bronx, trying to help the community that he grew up in.
"The Bronx is everything for me," Fat Joe said. "I've been all over the world, still not too many places as culturally diverse as the Bronx."
