Rockland County has issued a traffic alert because of construction work on Route 59 in Spring Valley.

Officials say there will be alternating lane closures on the eastbound and westbound lanes between Route 45 and Summit Avenue.

Drivers can expect delays Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Motorists are also advised that a northbound and southbound alternating lane closure is expected on Route 45 between East Funston Avenue and Old Nyack Turnpike daily beginning June 13 through June 17 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Officials are urging drivers to avoid the area if possible.
