A fatal car crash shut down lanes on northbound Route 9A Saturday in the Croton River Bridge area in Ossining.

The accident shut down Route 9A at Route 134. Officials expected the closure to last for the "better part of the day" warned it could cause significant delays.

Capt. Jeffery Giorgio of the Ossining Police Department says that the driver was the only occupant of the car. Giorgio says the driver was ejected from his vehicle and found dead at the time of arrival of officials.

The cause of the accident is still unknown.

The name of the deceased driver has not been released.
