The FBI's evidence recovery team was at Waveny Park Monday to search for clues in the case of the missing New Canaan mother of five, Jennifer Dulos.
Dozens of agents with metal detectors, shovels and rakes made their way through the normally quiet town park.
Dulos, 50, was last seen dropping her kids off at school the morning of May 24. Her car was found abandoned at Waveny Park that evening after friends reported her missing.
The park is about 2.5 miles from the home Dulos was renting in town.
Dulos' estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have been charged with tampering with or fabricating evidence and hindering prosecution in the case. Arrest warrants revealed Monday show that a search of Jennifer Dulos' New Canaan home found blood stains, blood spatter and evidence someone tried to clean up the crime scene.
The warrants also say Fotis Dulos and Troconis were captured on surveillance cameras stopping at more than 30 locations along a 4-mile stretch in Hartford to throw out multiple trash bags. Police later recovered those items and say that tests confirmed they were stained with Jennifer Dulos' blood.
But Jennifer Dulos remains missing, and police have called it an active investigation.
The developments have unsettled parkgoers who were out at Waveny on Monday.
"It's very tragic, very tragic," said one. "You just can't understand why anything like this could happen, let alone in New Canaan."
