Hispanic Day parade celebrates Puerto Rican pridePosted: Updated:
People were out celebrating Puerto Rican pride in Yonkers this weekend.
Several community groups, high school bands and sports teams took part in the annual Hispanic Day parade.
The event kicked off on South Broadway and ended at Getty Square.
Organizers say they wanted to highlight the resiliency of Puerto Ricans nearly two years after Hurricane Maria pummeled the island.
The parade has been held almost every year for nearly two decades.
