Police say one person was killed in a stabbing in Yonkers early Thursday morning.

They say a fight broke out on Schroeder Street at the Palisade Towers when a man pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim. The attacker then ran from the scene.

News 12 is told the victim has been identified as 25-year-old Kentrail Newton.

Yonkers police say EMS rushed Newton to a local hospital where he was placed on life support, but eventually succumbed to the stab wound.

They say the men involved in the fight knew each other but police haven't made an arrest in the stabbing.
