Jandon Scholars Program awards scholarship money to 15 students

WHITE PLAINS -

More than a dozen graduating high school seniors in Westchester received a boost in funding to help them achieve a college degree.

The Jandon Scholars Program spans four years, guaranteeing money each year as the student works toward their bachelor's degree.

Fifteen high school students were each awarded $12,000 in scholarships Tuesday.

This year marks the 20th year since the program was started.

Each scholarship is paid by the Cecil family. They've given out more than 250 scholarships to students from low-income families -- many of them are first-generation college students.
