Group offers $5,000 reward for information about cat shot with crossbow

A stray and feral cat advocacy group is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for shooting a cat with a crossbow on May 6.
Howell Township police say that officers were called to the 600 block of Casino Drive for reports of a cat impaled by an arrow. The cat was taken to the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital to get the arrow removed. The cat is expected to recover.
Police say that they believe that the cat was shot with a small, handheld crossbow.
Allie Cat Allies is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
“There are well-known links between animal cruelty and human violence, so this is a crime that must be taken seriously,” said Alley Cat Allies president Becky Robinson.
