Vietnam war veteran walking for PTSD awareness honored in White PlainsPosted: Updated:
A Vietnam War veteran who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder was honored in White Plains Friday.
State lawmakers awarded Frank Romeo with two honorary medals at the American Legion Post. Romeo launched the "Walk With Frank" campaign to help raise awareness for PTSD.
He began the 750-mile trek from Buffalo to Long Island last month. Romeo hopes the campaign will help equip aspiring soldiers with the knowledge of what to expect on and off the battlefield.
He's expected to reach Long Island by June 1.
