Rockland County was back in court Thursday over its state of emergency that bans unvaccinated children from public places.
The county Department of Health faced parents and their lawyers who say Rockland has overstepped its boundaries by issuing a state of emergency.
On Thursday, two parent groups represented by two different lawyers requested the same thing -- that a stay be put in place immediately ending the state of emergency until further notice.
The consolidated cases both claim a massive overreach on the part of the Rockland County executive's office and the Department of Health.
"I understand the frustration of the people who are affected by this, but I did not hear anything in court that I believe should sway the court into dismissing this executive order," says Rockland County Attorney Thomas Humbach.
The judge did not reach a decision Thursday, but said he will by Friday.
