YONKERS -

Two men involved in a car chase caused a crash that took down a utility pole in Yonkers Wednesday.

Police say two men got into an altercation which resulted in the chase and crash around 8 p.m. on Nepperhan Avenue just south of Odell Avenue.

Investigators say Jovanie Castillo, 28, of Yonkers, was driving a BMW when he crashed into a pole on Nepperhan Avenue. They say Castillo was chasing the victim, a 26-year-old Yonkers man who was driving a Cadillac.

Castillo has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. The driver of the Cadillac, who is also a Yonkers resident, is not facing any charges at this time.

There are reports that there were other people in the vehicles that fled the scene after the crash. Police are still investigating these reports.
