Members of the Yonkers community came together Saturday to celebrate Women's History Month.
The National Council of Negro Women held a "Sisters in the Spotlight" show at the Riverfront Library.
Women and girls of all ages performed, danced and sang to celebrate how far women have come -- and how far they will go.
"I think it's very important for older women who can offer wisdom, offer experience, and offer so much education to the young ladies that are coming up," said Athena Dent, with the NCNW.
It marked the first year the event was held.
