Power & Politics: Legal recreational marijuana in NY

Medical marijuana is legal in New York state for patients who are certified by medical practitioners as having serious conditions. Anti-drug advocates are asking state lawmakers not to legalize recreational marijuana. They say it will jeopardize public safety, have a negative effect on users' mental and physical health and lead to increased use among youth.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo dropped the proposal from the state budget, calling it too complicated of an issue to tackle before the budget due date of April 1. But he allegedly had a change of heart and said he wants it back in the budget.
Both Nassau and Suffolk counties say they will opt out if Cuomo's proposal to legalize recreational marijuana is approved.
Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder and Dr. Tanya Adams, a member of Doctors for Cannabis Regulation, joined News 12's Stone Grissom in the studio to discuss the issue.
