Pony Sitters program gives children hands-on experience with horses
A horse riding barn in Poughquag is teaching children about horses while also giving them hands-on experience.
The program, Pony Sitters, was started by Leah Struzzieri, the owner JL Performance Horses.
The Pony Sitters are expected to ride, feed and groom the horses but also participate in trivia games to expand their equestrian knowledge.
Struzzieri says it gives children a hands-on experience they can apply in the future.
