Officials say it will be years before a Yonkers apartment complex that was devastated in a fire will be restored.
The massive fire on Parkview Avenue one week ago left nearly 150 people homeless.
"There was no major injuries. However, due to the structural damage…the Building Department made the determination that an immediate condemnation will be done,” says Yonkers City Council President Mike Khader.

The fire destroyed the roof of the two-winged, six-story building. The property is now taped off and boarded up.
The American Red Cross in Greater New York tells News 12 that 80 residents have gone to them for help. Many people in the Yonkers community have been donating clothes, blankets and toys.
The landlord of the property reportedly submitted paperwork to the Building Department so it can allow people back in to retrieve their belongings.
