Fire witness: "I saw enormous flames about 30 to 40 feet high"

More than 100 firefighters were called in to battle the flames at a fire in Yonkers on Tuesday.

News 12 photojournalist Andrew Christman was in the midst of the controlled chaos as firefighters worked frantically to extinguish the blaze.

Christman spoke with numerous residents as they watched their homes burn.

"I saw enormous flames about 30 to 40 feet high," said one resident.

"It didn't look bad at first, but now it looks like they can't contain it," said another.

"It’s horrible. I saw a lot of neighbors I know, walking out, nowhere to go," lamented another long-time resident.
