‘Titanic was going through my mind:’ Family has rocky experience on cruise ship
A Poughkeepsie family had a scary situation on a cruise ship.
Kelly Croushore and her family were on vacation aboard the Norwegian Escape when a 115 mph wind gust sent the ship rocking on Sunday.

"Titanic was going through my mind,” she says.

Croushore says people fell off chairs and were holding onto the railings to try to not slide around.

The family was at the piano bar when it happened. They are OK, but  several passengers were hurt.

"There was stuff flying everywhere, glasses breaking, people screaming and crying. It was scary,” she says.

The ship left New York on Sunday and arrived at its first destination in Port Canaveral, Florida, Tuesday morning. It's now bound for the Bahamas before heading back to New York on Sunday.

"After it happened, we were all shaken up about it and were like we didn't want to do another cruise. But looking back on it now, it was kind of a cool experience to go through because no one got seriously hurt. So I would do a cruise again,” she says.
