BLAUVELT -

A Blauvelt family narrowly escaped their burning home Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters rushed to the scene of a three-alarm fire that broke out in a home on Glynn Oval just before 4 p.m. The flames were mostly contained to the second story of the house.

Authorities say when they arrived on scene, seven people who were inside the home escaped without injury.

The homeowner says she was watching TV when a watchful neighbor rushed over to alert her about the fire.
