Beloved Harrison teacher fatally struck by truck in Manhattan

A sixth-grade teacher from the Harrison School District was struck and killed in Manhattan.
The NYPD says Sarah Foster, a social studies teacher, was struck by a delivery truck while crossing the intersection of East 37 Street and Third Avenue.
Foster, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Louis M. Klein Middle School principal Scott Friend sent a letter to parents that said, “Sarah was an extraordinarily warm, talented and dedicated young teacher."
The school is offering grief counseling as students mourn the loss of Foster.
Police say the driver remained at the scene and has been charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian.
