Snow turns to sleet in Orange County, makes for icy evening commute

Parts of Orange County saw up to several inches of snow on Tuesday.
Heavy snowfall turned to sleet by midday. Plows tried to keep up with the changing conditions, but driving remained dangerous early Tuesday evening. The main concern during the evening commute was icy roads.
While some found the weather conditions to be less than ideal, News 12 found one woman cross-country skiing around the ponds in Monroe.
“For skiing it’s great; for other people driving, I don’t think it’s so good,” she said.
Sleet and freezing rain are expected to turn to rain overnight.
