Officials say two men were critically injured in a car accident in Chappaqua that kept the road closed for hours Saturday.
Police say a silver vehicle was heading north on Bedford Road around 1:30 p.m. when it tapped a guardrail near Green Lane, lost control, and hit a tree before ending up in a ditch.
Officials say they had to use the Jaws of Life and other tools to get both men out of the car.
The victims were taken to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition.
Authorities say the driver was a 31-year-old from Mahopac, and his passenger was a man in his late 20s from New York City.
