Yonkers library to serve as warming center, respite from cold

YONKERS -

Yonkers is opening a warming center for people trying to escape the bitter cold.

The Grinton I. Will Public Library on Central Avenue will be opening early Thursday, inviting cold guests inside from 8:30 a.m. until 9 p.m.

The staff tells News 12 that there are plenty of books, computers and children's activities to keep families occupied all day.
