Bedford police issue warning on phone scam

Posted: Updated:
BEDFORD -

The Bedford Police Department is warning residents about a phone scam involving callers who pose as police.

They say the scammers are targeting residents by pretending to be with the police department and requesting money.

Officers say anyone who receives the call should hang up immediately -- and then contact police at 914-241-3111.

The department says it would never ask for money.
