Judge adjourns case of priest charged with sexually abusing 10-year-old in BronxvillePosted: Updated:
A Westchester priest charged with sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl appeared in front of a judge Wednesday - in the same village where his alleged crime occurred.
Rev. Thomas Kreiser stayed silent walking into Village Court, where a judge agreed to adjourn his case to Feb. 6 at the request of the prosecution.
That means another few more anxious weeks for families at St Joseph’s Parish in Bronxville, where Kreiser was a reverend and where authorities say he abused the 10-year-old in September while visiting the church's parish school.
Kreiser pleaded not guilty to first-degree sexual abuse in December and was released on $10,000 bail.
He's since been removed from the parish by the Archdiocese of New York.
This isn't the priest’s only brush with the law. He was sentenced to five years’ probation in 2011 for allegedly stealing more than $25,000 from a Garnerville church.
