The Hudson Valley escaped a big winter snowstorm this weekend, but other parts of the country got hammered.
As many as seven people were killed in Missouri and Kansas, most in storm-related car crashes.
Missouri's highway patrol says it responded to thousands of calls for help.
And in Washington, D.C., federal offices are closed today because of heavy snow. Also, the three main airports serving the capital are trying to recover from up to eight inches of snow
