PEARL RIVER -

Police are asking residents to be vigilant after a suspicious incident in Rockland County.

Orangetown police say a man in a white cargo van with tinted windows asked a boy if he wanted a ride home Saturday afternoon.

It happened while the 10-year-old was sitting on the curb near Lang Terrace and Lombardi Road in Pearl River.

According to police, the boy asked a neighbor for help, which prompted the van to drive away.

Anyone with information should call Orangetown police.
