YONKERS -

A fire at an apartment complex in Yonkers Saturday has left around 25 people displaced, officials say.

Two firefighters and five residents were injured during the fire. Officials say the injuries are minor.

Police say the fire started at the Hawthorne Avenue apartment building around 2:45 p.m.

About 45 firefighters responded to the scene and it took them about 50 minutes to get the fire under control.

Residents say they're thankful for the firefighters and that it could have been a lot worse.

The Red Cross is taking care of the residents that were displaced.
