New date set for Tappan Zee Bridge demolition

The new date for demolition of the Tappan Zee Bridge will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, according to Piermont police.
It will take place at 10 a.m.
The demolition was originally set for Saturday, but Tappan Zee Constructors scrapped the plans due to this week's windy weather, which prevented them from making the necessary preparations.
As News 12 reported, dozens of restaurant owners who had planned on demolition day parties were left scrambling to cancel food orders and change staff schedules.
"We were going to line up all Adirondack chairs going down so you have a perfect view of the bridge. And at the end, we're going to have a hot dog stand, pretzels, chili, hot cocoa,” says Denis Whitton, owner Piermont 701 Restaurant.
