Archdiocese suspends retired priest amid sex abuse probe

A retired Middletown priest has been suspended by New York's Archdiocese.
The announcement comes after officials reopened a sex abuse investigation against Reverend Donald Timone, of St. Joseph's Church.

The 84-year-old is accused of molesting boys 15 years ago.
There was an investigation but at the time, Timone was ultimately allowed to stay in the church.

The new probe comes after a settlement was paid to one alleged victim.

According to the Archdiocese, Timone has been instructed not to present himself as a priest or celebrate Mass publicly.
