Yonkers 18-year-old accused of stabbing teen at The Mall at Bay Plaza

Police say 18-year-old Thomas Gibson, of Yonkers, stabbed a 17-year-old in the parking lot.

Police say a Yonkers teen stabbed a 17-year-old after the two got into an argument at The Mall at Bay Plaza.
Police say 18-year-old Thomas Gibson stabbed the 17-year-old in the left arm around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday in front of Modell's Sporting Goods.
Police say the teens were kicked out of the store and that's when the argument turned violent.
The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition. Doctors credit the responding police officers with helping to save the victim's arm.
Gibson is charged with felony assault.
A spokesperson for the Mall at Bay Plaza released a statement saying that safety is their No. 1 priority and that they are cooperating with police in the investigation.
