Tenants living at the Dunbar Heights complex in Peekskill are feeling the cold as their heat and hot water troubles persist.

"It's cold, it's cold in here," says 64-year-old Deborah Dunn.

Dunn has had to pack her bags and stay with her daughter night after night for nearly a month because she has had no heat, hot water or gas.

The problem started when the Dunbar Heights complex, which is part of the city's municipal housing authority, needed a pipe replaced. Con Edison found that the pipes were leaking and corroded. Work to replace the pipes has still not happened.

Tenants say they are fed up want something done.

According to the Peekskill Housing Authority, the reason for the water and heat being so intermittent is because the boiler system is no longer getting natural gas from the city. Instead it's coming from propane tanks.

Nancy Vann, of the Peekskill Housing Authority, says maintenance crews have been on call 24/7.

There's still no time frame as to when the problem will be fixed.
