Orangetown police: 13-year-old approached by car

Police say a teenage girl was approached by a car in Orangetown.

Orangetown police say a 13-year-old was walking in the area of Mountain View Avenue and East Central Avenue when she was approached by a car.

Officials say a gray-haired female asked the girl for directions before asking her to get in the car and show her how to get to the location.

The girl was able to leave the scene and contact her parents.

Orangetown police ask anyone who may have seen something to call 845-359-3700.
