Fire shuts down busy Larchmont shopping center days before Christmas

A busy shopping center in Larchmont remains closed after a fire on Wednesday, just days before Christmas.
Officials say flames broke out around 3 p.m. at the Excelsior Cleaners in the Ferndale Center on West Boston Post Road.
Cleanup crews were busy throwing away dozens of garbage bags, full of damaged merchandise from CVS, which is located next door to the cleaners.
The Stop & Shop also remains closed, but supermarket officials hoped to open later this afternoon when they get electricity back.
About 40 firefighters from several local departments worked to put out the flames.
