The snow-making effort at Mount Peter is helping skiers, but hindering drivers along 17A.
Page Ehrhard, of Warwick, says the snow is blowing onto 17A predominately during rush hour and causing wintry conditions.
"As you come up, the hill it's dry. It's not icy. It hasn't snowed," says Ehrhard. "And then when you reach the top, where there's a hairpin turn, it's icy and there's snow on the road."
Warwick Supervisor Mike Sweeton says the town has now notified both the state and ski resort.
"They were going to make some changes to move the snow-making a bit and have materials, salt on hand," says Sweeton.
Ehrhard says she's witnessed multiple accidents and hopes by making people aware that nothing tragic will happen.
The State Department of Transportation, which oversees the road, says it is also aware of the safety concerns in Warwick and is mobilizing crews to monitor and treat the conditions.
