Overnight fire leaves several homeless in Mt. Vernon

MOUNT VERNON -

An overnight fire in Mount Vernon has left several people homeless.

Officials say the fire stared around 3 a.m. on South Ninth Avenue.

Dozens of firefighters were on the scene, including crews from New Rochelle.

The owner was not home at the time and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
