Driving instructor accused of causing DWI crash during lesson appears in court

The Ridge driving instructor accused of driving drunk and crashing with students in the car appeared in court Friday.
Russell Cohen was an instructor with the Suffolk Auto Driving School.
He was teaching four students in October when the students say he was speeding and hitting the curb.
The students convinced him they were hungry, so he stopped at a McDonald's in Centereach where they called 911.
That's when Cohen drove off and eventually rear-ended another car in Ridge.
He is facing aggravated DWI charges.
