WHITE PLAINS -

The Metro-North employee hurt when a car exploded in a White Plains train yard parking lot has died.

The MTA says Gerald Schroeder died Nov. 24.

The 67-year-old and another employee were hurt when one of their cars exploded in October.

Officials determined the explosion was caused by flammable materials stored in an employee’s personal car.

The railroad did not know if Schroeder’s death was related to the explosion.
