Annual Thanksgiving Day dinner provides meal for Yonkers families in need

Many residents across the Hudson Valley shared their Thanksgiving Day with families in need.
Nearly 100 volunteers served 50 donated turkeys that provided around 200 meals for the Sharing Community's 35th annual Thanksgiving dinner.
The meal also included potatoes, gravy, green beans, cranberries and pie.
Debbie Linder and her family have volunteered with the organization in Yonkers for 26 years now.
"Thanksgiving is really all about family, eating, sharing, and this is the best way to share Thanksgiving with other people who may not have as much as we have and may not be as lucky to have as much as we have," she says.
Aside from today's dinner, the Sharing Community serves about 4,000 warm meals every month and provides services for the homeless, including a warm place to stay.
Donations and volunteers helped make the Thanksgiving feast possible, but the Sharing Community's executive director says that it is a year-round operation and help is always welcome.
