Police: Woman stole car with 2-year-old in back seat

A homeless woman is behind bars after police say she stole a car in East New York with a 2-year-old child inside.
They say 52-year-old Adrea Aronald is now charged with kidnapping, reckless endangerment and grand larceny.
It happened just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday in front of 1249 Sutter Ave.
Police say a 29-year-old woman got out of her blue Honda Accord and went inside the gas station on Sutter Avenue to get food, leaving her 2-year-old daughter strapped into a car seat in the back of the car.
Investigators say that's when Aronald jumped in the car and took off down Sutter Avenue, hit a bicyclist at the intersection of Sutter Avenue and Crescent Street, then continued on. They say she lost control and hit three unoccupied park cars in the vicinity of Crescent Street and Belmont Avenue.
Witnesses say good Samaritans held her down until police arrived and she could be taken into custody.
Officials say the 2-year-old was not hurt, but the bicyclist hit suffered minor injuries.
