Dobbs Ferry residents kick up donations for boy with rare brain disease

Community members came together Saturday to help a Westchester child suffering from a rare disease.
Despite the weather, Gould Park in Dobbs Ferry was filled with children enjoying a kickball tournament fundraiser for 9-year-old Jacob Moon.
Jacob suffers from Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare brain disease known as children's Alzheimer's.
Sanfilippo syndrome affects one in 70,000 children across the country. The life expectancy of those affected by the disease is 10-20 years old.
The Dobbs Ferry community organized the event to help Jacob’s family with the cost of health care.
They also want to raise awareness about the disease.
