A solar company worker says his company and others will greatly benefit from Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s recent initiative.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced this week that $27.5 million in funding will be available for the clean energy sector.
Some of the areas the funds can be placed are colleges and technical schools offering training programs or internships, as well as existing business that would like to hire new employees.

"The more folks that we have that are helping move those processes along, quickly and expeditiously, really helps us to get solar on roofs as quickly as possible,” says Stewart Bewley, vice president of capital markets for Vivint Solar.
By helping clean energy companies like Vivint Solar recruit and train new employees and upskill existing ones, the state can move quicker toward its 11-year environmental goal of having half of its electricity come from renewable energy by 2030.

With more options like solar energy, Cuomo's administration hopes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by 2030.
